Traditional Futon

A more traditional feel futon covered with unbleached, organic cotton fabric and filled with layers of a recycled cotton and wool ‘felt’ wrapped in organic British wool.
This futon is great for sleeping on all the time, especially if you have slept on futons before as it does have a firm-hard feel. Good for rolling up as it is quite pliable, but for this reason not really suitable to 'sit up' on a frame to make a seat.
Made in our Manchester workshop so we can make any size, but our standard sizes are: Single 90 x 200cm, Double 140 x 200cm, King 160 x 200cm.
The futon shown is a 5 layer, ideal for rolling away, out of the way.
Your futon can be made up in a coloured fabric or with a removable cover, the price depends on the type of fabric chosen.
Approximate thickness 5 layer 9cm, 6 layer 11cm, 7 layer 13cm.

If you want a futon that will roll away but are concerned that the standard traditional futon might be too hard we can add a natural latex (pure rubber tree sap) core to give some more comfort. Latex is the best natural filling for comfort and long lasting resilience (it is also the most expensive of all our fillings!). The futon will still have a firm feel but with a little more 'give' - ideal if you sleep on your side. You can choose between a 3cm or 5cm latex core, shown in the two prices for each size
